French Herbarium dated 1902
A French apothecary‘s Herbier. The ink labels indicate that the herbs and wild flowers were picked on the 21st of June 1902, around the village of Lugasson in the Bordeaux countryside. Also called Herbarium or Hortus Siccus (dried garden), this technique of documenting flora originated in Italy in the 16th century. Framed in a simple contemporary walnut profile.
