Designs for Renaissance Altars
Our large scale fine art reprint of an original 18th engraving documenting the works of Italian architect and garden designer Giacomo da Vignola. Shown are two designs for Altars with different pediments supported by Ionian and Corinthian columns. A Mannerist architect between the Renaissance and Baroque eras, Vignola is remembered for the Chiesa del Gesù in Rome, and for the works commissioned by his patrons, the illustrious Farnese family.
